Hancock Park Gets the Best of Britain From Bravo’s Top Chef, as Shown in This Gallery

In honor of the newest season of Top Chef, Chef Bernhard Mairinger hosted a celebration on Tuesday at the residence of His Majesty’s Consul General, Emily Cloke, where guests were treated to a taste of the United Kingdom.

The first season of the show to be filmed outside of the United States will begin airing on Bravo on Thursday, March 9. Episodes will include a picnic at Hampshire’s Highclere Castle, also known as Downton Abbey. The debut of the show will take place on Thursday, March 9.

Mairinger, who will be opening his “Lustig” restaurant in Culver City’s Helms bakery district this summer, provided tastings that included Welsh Dunbia lamb, which is now being exported to the United States again after an absence of more than 20 years. The restaurant will feature fun twists on international favorites. Move over, Australian lamb, because the British are coming to take your place.

There was herb-cured Scottish salmon, pan-seared English Dover sole, crispy seared Scottish trout, and Coombe Castle English Stilton cheese served on fruit bread crostini with apricot-ginger chutney. There were also succulent lamb rack lollipops, juicy meatballs, and shoulder sliders.

In addition, one of the contestants from the previous season of Top Chef, Jackson Kalb from Ospi Venice, and his wife Melissa were present to enjoy some warm sticky toffee pudding.

An dramatic culinary battle is being held in London, and sixteen of the world’s best chefs, including champions and finalists from eleven different Top Chef competitions, have converged on the city to compete in it. In this, the 20th season of the Emmy-winning competition series, the series’ host Padma Lakshmi, head judge Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons will once again test the abilities of finalists from nations such as Germany, Poland, Mexico, and other countries.
