Pink’s Hot Dogs’ Betty White Special Proceeds To Go To LA Zoo

Up to January 09, 2022, Pink’s Hot Dogs will donate the profit it gains from its product Betty White Naked Dog’s sale to the Los Angeles Zoo. The food item named after actor Betty White has long been a Pink’s Hot Dogs staple. The restaurant features it as just another hot dog.

White had an association with the Los Angeles Zoo in 1974, as the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association appointed her as one of its trustees. For your information, GLAZA is a not-for-profit organization associated with the Los Angeles Zoo. In 2006, Los Angeles city described White as an animal ambassador as she advocated for animals in LA for years. She talked a lot about the LA Zoo’s animals in her 2011 book entitled ‘Betty and Friends: My Life at the Zoo’.

On the last day of 2021, 99-year-old White had a natural death. January 17, 2022, will mark White’s 100th birth anniversary, and a commemorative People Magazine issue will feature her then.

There is a banner around the Pink’s Hot Dogs location along La Brea Avenue that shows its love for White. Richard Pink of Pink’s Hot Dogs stated that the product named after Betty White would be available here forever.

In 2010, Pink’s Hot Dogs launched the product in the opening ceremony of its Universal CityWalk location. Even back then, the profit from the product went as a donation to the Los Angeles East Valley Animal Shelter and the LA West Valley Animal Shelter.
