The Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown is commemorating the incredible work of Anna May Wong, the hotel’s design inspiration, with a special package for visitors to experience her life. Wong was born in the Chinatown region of Los Angeles in the early 1900s and went on to become the first Chinese-American movie star, featuring in more than 60 films. She was also the first Asian-American woman to be awarded a star on the Walk of Fame. The Anna May Wong Legacy package is offered until the end of the year for $699 and includes:

  • Overnight accommodations
  • A two-hour private “A Woman’s Place: Union Station and Chinatown” walking tour with the LA Conservancy (up to four people)
  • A piece of jewelry passed down through generations from Costanté, a company based in Downtown Los Angeles and founded by an API (Asian and Pacific Islander) woman.
  • A signature Anna cocktail at the property’s outposts, Metropole Bar + Kitchen and 18 Social
  • Complimentary valet

Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown will contribute to the Gold House non-profit organization for every booking it receives. The team from the Michelin-starred omakase eatery Noda is bringing its take on a New York City cocktail bar, ‘Shinji’s’, to Thunderbolt, the American South-style cocktail bar, on Wednesday, May 10.

Shinji’s will have a variety of drinks on the menu including Honeypenny, satsuma gin, nikka gin, beeswax vodka, vesper aperitif, mead and cocchi americano. They will also be providing a White Russian drink inspired by ‘The Big Lebowski’ that does not contain dairy or dairy substitutes and comes with a mini carpet coaster. Additionally, they will serve a Gin Fizz and Daiginjo Unchained, which is Shinji’s interpretation of a tequila soda with aperitivo.

On Friday, May 5th, Off The Menu and Topo Chico Hard Seltzer will be commemorating Cinco De Mayo at Prince Street Pizza in Venice. Between 6 and 10 pm, there will be a wide variety of tacos from Tacos 1986, pizza from Prince Street Pizza, and a unique dish created by the two restaurants: an Adobada Pizza featuring Adobada, onions, cilantro, morita salsa marinara sauce, and mozzarella Monterey Jack mix, topped with a serrano crema.
